Most are aware of SREL's research on the Savannah River Site, where studies are conducted literally from the "atoms to ecosystems" scales.

But SREL researchers have a wide reach throughout the Southeast, the US, and even the world. Scientists trained at SREL have gone on to careers in regional colleges and universities, state and federal agencies in the Southeast, and other occupations in the ecological sciences. Past and present SREL research projects continue to provide value to local communities. And SREL Outreach and education programs have reached tens of thousands of students, teachers, and residents in SC, GA, and beyond.
